HPLC DryLab® & PeakMatch® User Course

- Course goals:
In this course you will learn the principles of DryLab® and PeakMatch® and how these tools will support your chromatographic work. You will learn how to begin the Design of a Method, what errors are most often made, the potential problems that you might have to face and how to solve them in a fast and efficient way. Apart from the usage of our Method Development Software, the basics of chromatography are taught.

Pharmacists, chemists and members of R&D or quality control in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industry.
- Course Instructors:
- Dr. Imre Molnár studied chemistry in Saarbrücken with special training in analytical chemistry. He then worked for two years as a post-doctoral fellow with Csaba Horváth at Yale University, USA, on fundamentals of Reversed Phase Chromatography. He has over 30 years of experience in the development of HPLC-instruments, column production and HPLC applications and is specialized in pharmaceutical and biopolymer research and analysis. For nearly the same time he has been working as a trainer for HPLC. Since 1986 there is a close cooperation with Lloyd R. Snyder, John Dolan and co-workers from LC Resources. Inc. USA, for the joint development of the DryLab®-Software.
- Dr. Hans-Jürgen Rieger studied chemistry in Berlin. He works since 1999 for the Institute as an application chemist and software developer.
- Dipl. Chem. Kathryn Monks studied chemistry in Spain. She speaks English, Spanish and is involved in the development of DryLab® for Design Space application.
- Program:
- What are the chromatographic prerequisites in the development of an efficient HPLC-method? Which are the promising parameters to optimize? Why are robust methods for the validation process so important?
- How to select suitable input runs for systematic development of HPLC-methods? How to use DryLab® with different experimental designs? How many input runs are needed by DryLab? How can I use DryLab to make my methods more robust?
- Organization of experimental data and peak tracking with PeakMatch®. Correction of peak overlaps and reversed elution orders. Elimination of non-relevant peaks from the peak table.
- How to create a DryLab model of the separation and how to find out the strengths and weaknesses and how to define the quality of an HPLC-method!
- Evaluating the DryLab model - finding optimum conditions for final method Gradient optimization - how does the selectivity change in method transfer? Optimization of column dimensions and flow rate (speeding up the method).
- How to evaluate and judge the method robustness from a DryLab® model? How to elaborate the Design Space in HPLC according to the Quality by Design (QbD) principles? Which are the new 3-dimensional tools to optimize multifactorial HPLC?
- Participation fee:
The cost of participation for two days is EUR 1.490,-. If you register 6 weeks in advance the cost will be EUR 1.340,- . DryLab® users may apply for a special reduced fee. |
